How to Make Perfect Banana Bread – Every Time
You don’t have to be a whiz in the kitchen or related to Martha Stewart in order to make delicious food. If you weren’t born with natural talent in the kitchen, all it means is you need to take a bit more time and care in your food preparation in order to put out a stellar product. This is especially true for banking, as baking is more of a science than an art.
Here is a step by step way for you to produce perfect banana bread each and every time.
Start by getting your ingredients laid out in an organized fashion to make it easier for you to do your baking.
Here’s what you will need:
- 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
- 1 ½ cups of flour
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- ½ a teaspoon of salt
- 2 eggs (lightly beaten ahead of time)
- 3 Bananas (overripe is the best, and be sure to mash them up)
- 1 cup of chocolate chips.
Once you have all of your ingredients neatly laid out, turn the oven on and preheat it to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Now is also the time to get your baking tray ready to go and for you to decide whether you are going to make banana muffins or banana bread. If you choose to make banana muffins you need to lay out your muffin pans. If you choose to make banana bread you need your loaf pan. Whichever pan you choose, lightly coat it in butter or cooking spray and set it aside.
Get yourself a large mixing bowl and grab your flour sugar baking soda and salt. Mix them together and then proceeded to add the oil the mashed bananas and the two eggs that you have already whisked ahead of time. You can choose to mix the batter with your hands, with an electric beater, or with fork. Whichever method you choose be certain to not over mix, just be sure the ingredients are blended nicely together. Lastly add in your chocolate chips! If you wish to use more than the 1cup no one will judge you. You may also wish to add a splash of vanilla extract for a little bit of extra flavor if you so desire.
Your baking instructions will depend on which pan you chose at the beginning of your preparations. If you chose to make banana muffins then you will need to cook your banana bread for significantly less time. Since banana muffins are individually smaller than the entire banana loaf, the baking time is cut in half. Bake the banana muffins for 32 minutes and check them with a toothpick to see if the baking is complete. You can do this by inserting a toothpick in the middle of one of the muffins and if it comes out clean then they are done, if it comes out with gooey batter on it then they need a bit more time. The same method goes if you’re using the loaf pan to make banana bread, the only difference is you will need to cook the bread for anywhere from 60 to 80 minutes depending on your oven. It is best to set a timer and check it after 60 minutes to see if you are close to being done or not. Monitor it carefully towards the end to avoid burning your delicious banana bread.
Once you are certain your banana bread is cooked, take it out of the oven and let it cool for about 5 to 10 minutes, then remove from your pan and let cool on the counter or serve warm with a little bit of butter whatever you want!
Baking can be simple as long as you follow your recipe as closely as possible. Don’t be afraid to try new recipes in the kitchen and enjoy your yummy homemade treats.
